Teacher Dan keeps building — week after week
In the Philippines, Teacher Dan continues to show up every week with energy, creativity, and purpose. His sessions have become a highlight for the children — a space where learning coding feels less like a class and more like play. Using platforms like Scratch and Night Zookeeper, the kids are designing and programming their own games, discovering the logic behind the screen while having a lot of fun along the way. The consistency of these sessions is building something that goes beyond digital skills: it's building confidence.
JAPAN — ST. FRANCIS HOME
From stop motion to submarine cables — curiosity in action. In Japan, the children at St. Francis Home have been on quite a learning journey this past period. Following up on a lesson about animation, they dove into the world of stop motion — using cameras and simple editing to bring their own drawings and characters to life. The excitement in the room was real. The following week took a different turn: the internet itself became the subject. What is it? How does it work? Where does information go when you watch a video? The children were especially captivated to learn that the internet travels through cables laid under the ocean — and that fish sometimes bite them. That detail alone sparked a conversation that lasted well beyond the planned lesson.
Most recently, the focus shifted to something just as important as technical skill: staying safe online. Through a hands-on activity, the children read real message scenarios and worked through decisions together — when something is safe, when to be cautious, and when to go to a trusted adult. A Kahoot quiz wrapped up the internet lesson, and the children rose to the challenge — thinking carefully, supporting each other, and growing their understanding in real time.
None of this happens without you. Your generosity is what keeps Teacher Dan in that classroom every week, what puts a laptop in a child's hands, and what turns curiosity into capability. We are deeply grateful for your continued belief in these young people — and we hope we can count on your support to keep this work going. Every contribution, at every level, makes a direct difference in their lives. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about how your donation is being used, we would love to hear from you.
With gratitude,
