Dear ARCHE-friends,
we are so grateful for the support you’re giving us for our work. United, we can build a new, strong perspective for children in need.
The new: An important aspect of our approach to a better future for our children. Making new friends, trying out new instruments, sports, games or books or get to know new and tasty meals – these are significant elements of everyday work in our houses. However, in this report we want to share another meaning of finding the new. Let’s tell you great stories from our diverse trips and camps!
First, there is our standard-camp. We take our kids into the countryside and set up a great time shaped by action and fun, exciting puzzlehunts and tournaments or games that seek to further develop our children’s personalities. Of course, we also love visiting attractions on the spot and exploring the landscape. Quite a high-class standard, isn’t it? The kids are downright flourishing at our camps. For some days, they can forget the challenges they must face every day and instead be what they are: Children. We recognize the relevance of showing them something that is beyond their neighborhood often already on our journey to the camp: Quite a few kids are lacking a sense of locality – they simply never had the chance of seeing anything out of their daily routine before. After more than an hour of driving along forests next to the motorway, they ask: “Are we still within our hometown?”
At DIE ARCHE, some of our camps also have a special focus. When final school exams are coming up, we offer camps where our diligent teenagers get the chance to learn and prepare for the tasks waiting to be dealt with. Besides our pedagogues, volunteers who travelled through the whole country participated at this camp as learning supporters – a great effort for our kids!
Another important matter is strengthening our children’s families. Nothing can replace the role of a family. At our mother-child-camps, we are not only offering a varied schedule for both sides. First and foremost, we foster their relationships during a time without everyday worries that often threaten the trust in each other.
Alas, these few cheerful days cannot solve all of our children’s challenges at a blow. But nevertheless we believe that our camps are definitely more than a sort of isolated joyful time: We try to excite a curiosity and awake a feeling that lasts. Children at DIE ARCHE matter to someone. They belong to our society the same way as everyone does. They have the potential to fulfil their wishes.
Dear supporters! Thank you sincerely for enabling DIE ARCHE to be there for children in need and exploring new perspectives together with them. No matter what background they have. And still being considerate of that background. We would be very grateful if children in need remain close to your heart in the future.
