In addition to our offers for our Arche children, we are currently also committed to the refugee families from Ukraine. The images and the effects of the war, which is forcing hundreds of thousands of people to leave their homes, are of great concern to us at the Arche. Our Arche locations distribute clothing, food, water, and hot meals to the refugee families. In addition, we organize schooling and programs for refugee children and consult the arriving families on further steps.
There are currently more than 3,000.000 people according to the UN fleeing from the war in Ukraine. Over 150,000 refugees are already registered in Germany and more are expected to arrive within the next weeks. The majority of refugees are women and children. Arriving here they are in need of food, water, clothing, shelter, and people who help them with their next steps.
"Die Arche" has repeatedly been involved in refugee work, and now we want to help those who need our help most urgently in a quick and uncomplicated way. Nationwide, we are preparing all Arche locations to hand out clothing, food, water, hot meals, baby equipment, and more. We organize school classes for refugee children and help families with their next steps (how to get housing, economic access, translate documents, etc.).
Our goal is to support the refugees arriving from Ukraine through practical, uncomplicated, emotional, and educational help in order to make them feel welcome in the midst of this terrible crisis.
