Dear Friends,
When last you heard from us, we were proud to report that 1,052,633 consumers from all around India had opted in and were enrolled in the mDiabetes program – a massive nationwide mHealth program we are implementing with our partner Nokia. Since then, we’ve been keeping up the pace and sending those subscribers a series of 56 consumer-tested text messages providing clear and actionable information on diabetes and its prevention.
The Latest
The opt-out rate, a measure of the program’s integrity, is low – 1.65%. We believe consumers are enthusiastic about this program. Don’t just take our word for it.
V., an mDiabetes subscriber from Tamil Nadu, says it best.
“Based on the messages I have read, I made lifestyle changes such as eating healthy food and doing exercise regularly. I have also understood the means and methods to maintain my blood sugar levels.”
It’s this kind of feedback that keeps us going and assures us we’re on the right path to help people live healthier lives.
And that’s not all.
Thanks to generous supporters like you, we are on track to have one million consumers “graduate” from our program this summer. We are currently implementing the evaluation plan and are on track to deliver our final analysis of the program’s effectiveness in September 2013, fulfilling our Clinton Global Initiative commitment.
We believe that mDiabetes will be the cornerstone of a scalable, cost-effective model for chronic disease prevention for the developing world. We are so grateful for your support. Together, we can create a healthier world.
