Dear Friends,
You are amazing. With your help, we're educating more than 1,000,000 people about healthy living.
We are thrilled to report this incredible milestone in the mDiabetes project, an important initiative in the fight against non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The Details:
Between January 9, 2012, and January 4, 2013, 1,052,633 consumers from all around India opted in and were enrolled in the mDiabetes program by our partner Nokia. These participants are currently receiving a series of 56 consumer-tested text messages, designed by us in consultation with Emory University, to provide clear and actionable information on diabetes and its prevention.
But that's not all - we have initiated the first step of a rigorous effectiveness evaluation plan. We have gathered baseline feedback from 900 consumers and will compare these responses to ones we gather from the same consumers when they complete the program. Our final analysis of the program's effectiveness will be available September 2013.
Next Steps
We're still raising funds to complete the program, as well as the research and analysis.
If effective, mDiabetes will be the cornerstone of a scalable, cost-effective model for chronic disease prevention for the developing world. That’s why the research is so very vital to this project.
We are so grateful for your support. Together, we can create a healthier world.
