Introduction

Menstrual equity remains a critical issue across India, particularly in rural regions where barriers like cost and accessibility persist. Many adolescent girls and women lack access to hygienic menstrual products, impacting their health, education, and overall empowerment. At the Desai Foundation, we are dedicated to changing this through community health and hygiene camps, livelihood programs, and awareness sessions that meet women and girls where they are and provide resources to uplift them at every stage of life.

Supporting Girls and Women at Every Life Stage

Childhood We focus on instilling lifelong health habits early, with initiatives like our Bal Health Mela, where health and hygiene education comes alive. Through interactive and joyful sessions, we equip young girls with the knowledge to grow up strong and well-informed.

This quarter’s impact:

  • Pediatric Checkups: 2665
  • Bal Health Mela Participants: 3427

Teen Years

We stand alongside girls as they navigate menstruation, breaking down taboos and ensuring they have the resources to stay in school. Our menstrual hygiene awareness sessions and pad distribution give girls the confidence to pursue their dreams without interruption.

This quarter’s impact:

  • Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Beneficiaries:  31,411
  • Sanitary Pads Distributed: 66,706

Young Adulthood

For young women stepping into adulthood, we offer vocational training and entrepreneurship workshops that open doors to financial independence and personal growth.

This quarter’s impact:

  • Vocational Training Participants:  8,173
  • Entrepreneurship Workshop Participants: 466

Adulthood

As women take on more responsibilities, our programs provide essential career guidance, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial skills, helping them shape a future of independence and security.

This quarter’s impact:

  • Career Guidance Program Participants: 3171
  • Banking and Savings Awareness Program Participants: 544

Motherhood

Our maternal health camps support women through their journey into motherhood, ensuring they have access to necessary healthcare and knowledge to stay healthy and nurture their families.

This quarter’s impact:

  • General Health Camp Attendees:  8,143
  • Gynecological Checkup & Awareness Camp Participants:  3,209

Creating a Brighter Future

We believe that empowered women raise empowered families. By focusing on education, breaking stigmas, and building resilient communities, we’re planting seeds for a healthier, more equitable future.

Conclusion

Our initiatives continue to create real impact, providing essential health resources, skills training, and support networks that empower women and girls in rural India. Each effort brings them closer to lives filled with dignity, opportunity, and self-sufficiency—while building a foundation for empowered generations ahead.
