Dear donors, supporters, and friends:

We are incredibly happy to announce that on the few months we have been sharing with the GlobalGiving community, we have received several heartfelt donations that have helped us in our journey: developing minds in Maniapure.

The last quarter of 2023 was a very exciting time at Maniapure. We managed to improve our kitchen facility, in which we cook nutritious meals for all students of the Padre Miguel Gonzalez Preschool.  Additionally, we were able to get all necessary supplies, including the children’s uniforms, for the start of the new school year.

We are very proud to share that our nutritional menus have been adjusted by our Nutriotionist Valentina to reach our children's needs and to take advantage of local crops. The menus, combined with the local doctor’s treatment help our children persevere and regain their full health when at risk of malnutrition.

Our new teacher, Dianne, is beyond excited to be at Maniapure. One thing she has highlighted about the work in the center is how happy she feels by providing other indigenous children with a sensible and quality teaching environment. Being herself a member of an indigenous community, this statement fills our heart with joy, as one of our goals is to embrace Maniapure’s multiculturality.

Another accomplishment for these months was the culmination of the educational project of the first trimester of the school year. This trimester we were teaching the children about customs and traditions of the zone by showing them how to sow.

A few months ago, we participated in the heart warming event: Giving Tuesday. We were able to add supporters to our cause during that day and for that we are truly thankful. We will be campaigning in the next few months specially to assure our staff is able to live and teach, two things that seem to be synonyms for our devoted teachers.

We want you to know that we will keep reporting about our activities, goals and challenges. Soon we will aim at mobilizing the civil registry so all children for the zone can be properly included as citizens.

Please feel free to reach out if you would like to know more, or have inquiries about our work and our community at Maniapure. We are sure that with your generous help, we can continue to provide a healthier and more enriching today and tomorrow for our children.

We are grateful beyond words and wish you the very best this year.
