Past Participant Gives Back!

By Esther Sampson | External Relations Manager

Athi joined United Through Sport as a participant when he was 10 years old as a standout rugby player. He was selected as one of the players that went on a rugby tour to the United Kingdom in 2009. He was supported with a full scholarship to a top high school in the area, after graduating he joined United Through Sport's Youth Rising network.

He has always been passionate about giving back and sharing his skills and knowledge with children in his community. He loves helping with the development of underprivileged kids. Recently he has joined United Through Sport's Siyaphakama Project as the program manager. The Project will partner with local primary schools in the area, teaching children valuable life skills and equipping them on their pathway to success. Athi will be playing an integral part in using sport as a tool to impact children's lives and help them overcome the issues that they face.

Thanks to your support Athi has been equipped to put his passion for making lasting changes in the communities into practice. We are looking forward to seeing how Athi makes a difference in his communities, using sport as a tool to transform lives!
