Dental Mission Success!
By Meg Ferrigno | Executive Director
He and his new front tooth say thank you!
Dearest supporters,
We want to thank you for making our dental mission possible! The dentists are now in a beautiful remote monastery called Gading, halfway through the dental mission itinerary. We have set up 5 clinics in different villages in Yushu county. Through the hard work of two generous and diligent American dentists, we have served 365 Tibetan patients without access to dental care over the past seven days, and there are still more villages to serve. Hundreds of infected teeth have been removed, hundreds of cavities have been filled, and almost a thousand people have been given toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental care teachings.
During the dental clinic we are also traveling with our traditional Tibetan medicine doctor and interns. They offer free screenings and traditional medicine while the crowds wait for the dentists.
This is all made possible through your support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Much gratitude,
meg

Bonus Day 2019 Update!
By Emily Bigelow | Project Organizer
Dear supporters,
Well, we had our Bonus Day for the Dental Mission for Tibetan Nomads of Yushu 2019 and all we can say is WOW!! Thanks to your donations and support, we raised $13,704 and an additional $5,000 matched by GlobalGiving for a total of $18,704!! We met and surpassed our goal for this year’s dental project. Without your help this would not have been possible! The staff at The Pureland Project and the Tibetan Nomads of Yushu send their gratitude.
We will send another update about the project after its completion, including photos and information about the scope of the dental mission this year. Dental care is sorely needed among Tibetan nomads of Yushu, Qinghai, and thanks to your contribution they will get the attention they need.
Thank you, again, for your support for this project. We can’t wait to bring the dentists to Tibet!
In gratitude,
Meg Ferrigno & Emily Bigelow

May 2019 Project Update
By Emily Bigelow | Board Secretary
Dear supporters,
Thank you for your continued support for the Dental Mission for Tibetan Nomads of Yushu 2019! As we look to the months ahead, we will be busy preparing for and implementing this important project. We are currently finalizing the schedule for the dentists, as well as identifying which communities will be tended to. Given the success of last year’s dental mission in Yushu, multiple local communities reached out with requests for dental assistance! Meg, director of The Pureland Project, is currently in the region finalizing the clinic schedule and locations.
Our fundraising efforts are still underway, and we appreciate your donations. Thank you so much for your support! We are very excited about this year’s dental mission, and appreciate any additional support, whether by another donation or by sharing this project with someone you know. We are doing this work together! We will continue to keep you updated with the progress of the dental mission. Thank you for supporting the Tibetan nomads of Yushu!
In gratitude,
The Pureland Project team
