Gift of the Givers partnered with Palestinian influencer Ahmed Hijazi in Gaza to provide emergency relief by delivering vital food parcels, shelter, medicine, hygiene kits and clothing. This collaboration with Ahmed leverages his deep connections and elevated platform in Gaza to accelerate direct aid where it's needed most. Together, we can maximize the efficiency and reach of aid distribution at a time when the Palestinian people are facing scarce access to necessities.
Since October 7, conditions in Gaza have worsened sharply. Homes, hospitals and schools are in ruins from relentless bombing that has destroyed or damaged nearly 50% of Gaza's buildings. Over 27,000 Palestinians have lost their lives, including more than 10,000 children. In addition, more than 60,000 people have been injured, overwhelming the health services. Displacement has also reached catastrophic levels, with over 1.7 million people internally displaced.
Gift of the Givers has a history of serving the Gaza Strip through humanitarian projects dating back to 2010. Our initiatives have empowered Palestinians across all sectors. We have built many facilities to help the disadvantaged. Although many of our facilities have now been damaged or destroyed by Israeli airstrikes, we continue to provide necessities and temporary shelter to Gazans. We'll support education, health, and psychosocial programs. We'll help rebuild homes and infrastructure
This crisis underscores the urgent need for basic necessities such as food and water, as well as infrastructure support in Gaza. Without immediate solutions, Gazans face dire consequences as disease, malnutrition and food insecurity increase at an alarming rate, with half of Gaza's children facing acute malnutrition.
