As the world celebrates International Day for Yoga on 21 June 2016, how can our little angels at not RISE to the occasion! It was an amazing sight to see our RISE children perform yogasanas with utmost dedication and concentration.
In order to mark the day, RISE teachers decided to take children out to the nearby park for a Yoga session. The children were told about what they were going to do and excitement amongst the kids spread like wild fire. Durries were spread in the park and children were positioned in rows before starting the session.
Yoga expert was invited to conduct the session and what was surprising was the way RISE kids performed the asanas - just like expert practitioners. Many onlookers cheered the children and some even offered them sweets after the session. What a day it proved to be for little Yoga masters!
Yoga is beneficial to kids in many ways. And our special children, who encounter emotional, social, and physical challenges are likely to benefit much from Yoga practice. Regular yoga sessions which include breathing techniques, behavioural guidelines, and physical postures can be incredibly valuable for them. Yoga is something children can practice anywhere and that the breathing, the concentration, the poses, and the way kids learn to act or react to situations, will lead to constant self-discovery and inquisitiveness. Plus, yoga is portable, and no mat, special clothing, or special pillow is absolutely necessary.
We at AROH feel that our children should be given regular yoga sessions till they learn to do it on their own and they get into the daily habit of doing Yoga. If you also feel we can add value to our children’s lives through Yoga, support us so that we may provide regular Yoga instructor for the kids in ten RISE centres supported with your generous donation.
Thank you for your interest and attention!
