Helping Them RISE...
For more than 500 kids, remedial education is not just preparation for life, it has become life itself. They are moving forward, new doors are opening, they’re doing new things, they’re becoming curious… and curiosity is leading them to new paths.RISE (Remedial Innovations in School Education) Centres are showing the way to a brighter future for all those kids who are deprived and marginalised. Your generous support made this journey possible for these kids.In six months of learning, their progress cards are shining, literally, as they now know the value of this piece of paper.
Ravi, a poor kid living in Tigri, had been deprived of education and was helping his father at the tea stall. When he first came to the RISE centre, at 8 years of age, he could not even recognise the alphabets. After six months, he has become a regular at school and is proud to show his grades.
Teachers who are the backbone of this initiative, not only teach the subjects, but also bring the much needed behavioural transformation in the kids. The teachers try to improve their self esteem, confidence and personal attributes.
Ramwati, a domestic servant, had been taking her 10 year boy Dinesh to work, and the house master was asking Dinesh to do household chores. Dinesh wondered why he could not be like the kids in the house where his mother worked. Things changed when Dinesh was brought to RISE Centre. He is looking smart. He is aspiring to be a doctor and gaining the confidence that he can do it!
There are regular meetings with parents which is helping in child’s development. Creative teaching learning activities help in bringing our hidden talent in the children.
Many volunteers are coming forward to be with the children and help them in this journey towards a better life. We hope that the support and donations would keep flowing so that we may reach out to many more children who are waiting out there for some one to hold their hand and save them from lives of drudgery and misery!
