This May, the Underground TechSheroes program continued to provide a safe and meaningful learning space for 120 women and girls. Through a combination of technology training and Women’s Empowerment sessions, students strengthened both their practical computer skills and their confidence in themselves and their futures.
During the month, students continued their HTML and web development lessons. They explored key concepts such as HTML colors, CSS, links, images, tables, lists, block and inline elements, classes, IDs, layouts, responsive design, iframes, forms, and HTML symbols. Through hands-on coding exercises, students practiced creating simple web pages and began to better understand how websites are structured and designed.
By the end of the month, students were able to add colors and styles to web pages, create links, insert images, organize information with tables and lists, use classes and IDs, build simple webpage layouts, and create basic forms. These lessons helped students grow more confident in writing code and increased their interest in technology and web development.
The program also continued to support students’ personal growth through Women’s Empowerment sessions. This month’s sessions reviewed earlier topics and introduced mental health awareness, stress management, and mindfulness. Students discussed the importance of emotional balance, self-awareness, and healthy ways to manage stress. A special guest speaker, Dr. J, led a session on mindfulness and mental health, offering students practical tools for relaxation and focus.
These sessions built on previous lessons about communication, leadership, conflict management, self-confidence, and healthy habits. Students participated actively in discussions and mindfulness exercises, showing strong interest in learning more about personal well-being.
One student, Hamasa, shared how the program has shaped both her technical skills and her confidence:
“Through this course, I have gained valuable skills in Windows, Microsoft Word, internet use, and coding. I have become more confident in using computers and technology.”
She also reflected on the value of the Women’s Empowerment sessions, saying:
“These sessions have taught me many important lessons about self-confidence, communication, managing stress, and understanding others. The discussions help me feel more positive and better prepared to face challenges in life.”
Another student, Tamkin, shared that the program has helped her become more confident and independent:
“This course is helping young women build skills, gain confidence, and prepare for a better future. I believe that programs like this can play an important role in shaping the future of women in our society.”
During this reporting period, there were no security issues affecting the implementation of the program. Classes continued normally, and the learning environment remained safe and stable.
This month’s progress shows the continued impact of combining digital education with empowerment and emotional support. The 120 women currently participating in Underground TechSheroes are not only learning how to use technology, but they are also building confidence, creativity, resilience, and hope for the future.
