As is the case with all projects across the globe, our project has been affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic. However, this slow down due to social distancing mandates has allowed our staff to focus on solidifying our curriculum for the post-COVID world.
Our strategic partnership with the local school district is critical to the success of this program. COVID-19 caused the school to cease school within its buildings in lieu of homeschooling. There is also uncertainty regarding the Fall semester. We refused to remain stagnant during the pandemic, so we went to the planning room and brainstormed how we could enhance an already effective program. Our conclusion was to expand our training program to include carpentry and agribusiness. We were fortunate to lease four acres of land and acquire an 8,000 square foot warehouse which will be used to implement our new programs. This now expands our youth training offering from food service and information technology to include agribusiness and carpentry.
Our program directors are hard at work developing the curriculum for these program. Your support for this program is sincerely appreciated as we are in the process of acquiring tools, machinery, and supplies to ensure the success and sustainability of this program; for that, we are truly grateful!
