FOMCAM seeks to establish a resident (Day Care and Child Development-vocation Center) that will reduce the risk of child abduction, child safety/abuse, unemployment for women, malnutrition, and food insecurity. This center will empower them socio-economically through life skills acquisition, preventive education, child rights and reproductive health, thereby reducing the risk of nannies getting pregnant, infected with HIV, and thereby capacitating them as entrepreneurs and actors of change.
Child baring working mothers (in public and private sectors) are constantly faced challenges of carrying children ages 01 day old to 05 years to work or living them home with guardians or with grannies who cannot give them appropriate care at home. In cases where nannies are available they sometimes turn to be hostile on the children. Some abandoned the children when they fill the task of caring for them is too difficult or above them, thus putting the lives these kids at risk of child abductees.
FOMCAM will acquire land, construct a modern Day Care and Child Development Center and play ground, furnish center with furniture/equipment, employ and train to staff, reception of children from the community and beyond and offer them holistic care. Abandoned/vulnerable orphan children shall be raised and sponsored in the center through education, health and skilled orientation. Sustainably, Children of busy parents will be kept at the center (6:30Am to 6:30PM) and hours paid for daily/monthly.
