For one young mother, Safa, and her baby, Kamille, what should have been a time of joy and bonding had instead become day after day marked by fear, uncertainty, and isolation. Trapped by her abusive husband in Egypt and far from the support of family and friends, Safa faced the heartbreaking reality of trying to protect her baby with limited resources and few options.

When she reached out for help, Pathways stepped in to provide a lifeline to safety. Thanks to the compassion and generosity of supporters, we were able to help Safa and Kamille leave behind a situation that had left them vulnerable, afraid and in grave danger. What once seemed impossible slowly became a reality as plans were put in place to bring them home to the USA.

The journey was not without challenges. Traveling with an infant while navigating complex logistics and emotional strain required courage and perseverance. Throughout the process, Pathways provided practical assistance and encouragement, ensuring that this young family did not have to face the road ahead alone.

Today, instead of living in survival mode, Safa can focus on what matters most—caring for Kamille and building a stable future. Moments that many parents take for granted, such as putting her child to bed without fear and imagining the possibilities that lie ahead, are now part of her daily life.
