A Child Should Not Learn on an Empty Stomach
In Tororo District, over 1,600 children walk to school each morning carrying more than just books—they carry the weight of hunger.
Before this program, many of these children sat through lessons distracted by empty stomachs. Some would rest their heads on desks, too weak to focus. Others simply stopped coming to school altogether.
Today, because of your compassion, that story is changing.
Every day, these children now receive a warm, nutritious meal. It may seem simple, but for them, it is everything. It is the difference between exhaustion and energy, between silence and participation, between giving up and holding on.
Teachers describe classrooms that are now alive with curiosity. Children are raising their hands, engaging in lessons, and smiling more often.
But beyond the classroom, something even more powerful is happening—hope is returning.
You are not just feeding children. You are restoring dignity, unlocking potential, and giving 1,600 young lives a real chance at a better future.
