Boosting Attendance and Retention
One of the most noticeable impacts of the school feeding program has been the improvement in school attendance and retention. Previously, many children missed school regularly due to hunger or lack of food at home. Some eventually dropped out altogether.
Since introducing daily meals, attendance has steadily increased. Children are more eager to come to school, knowing they will receive a nutritious meal. Parents, too, are more encouraged to send their children to school, as it eases part of their daily burden.
Teachers report fewer absences and a stronger commitment from learners. The consistency in attendance is helping children keep up with their studies and perform better academically.
This progress demonstrates how addressing a basic need—food—can unlock access to education. Your contributions are helping to keep children in school, where they belong.
