In response to deteriorating living conditions and depleted household savings in Al-Qastal camp, BESME INSANI executed a comprehensive food parcel project. The intervention targeted newly displaced families and impoverished households living in vulnerable tent shelters. In total, 100 high-quality food baskets were distributed across the camp, supporting an estimated 400 individuals.
The project prioritized female-headed households, families caring for malnourished young children, and elderly residents living without financial support. Each delivered parcel contained a calorie-dense selection of staple items, including bulgur wheat, sunflower cooking oil, canned tuna, dry beans, black tea, and iodized salt, tailored to sustain a family of five through difficult winter months.
Our operational teams managed the full logistical chain, executing local procurement, quality inspections, and secure warehouse packaging. Decentralized distribution points were set up within Al-Qastal camp blocks, and field officers arranged direct home deliveries for elderly beneficiaries unable to walk to distribution sites.
Providing these monthly food packages mitigates severe food insecurity and reduces negative coping mechanisms, such as skipping meals or accumulating high-interest debts for basic groceries. BESME INSANI expresses sincere appreciation to humanitarian partners who enable these vital, life-saving distributions across Al-Qastal camp and neighboring settlements.
