Amid high unemployment and severe food insecurity in the Afrin region, BESME INSANI implemented an emergency food relief initiative to support displaced families. Over a three-day field operation, our logistical staff distributed 1,100 essential food parcels to vulnerable households, reaching approximately 5,500 individual beneficiaries residing in informal camps and temporary settlements.
The distributed food baskets contained non-perishable staples selected to ensure balanced nutrition and daily energy requirements. Key items included fortified cooking oil, high-protein pulses, sugar, rice, and grain products. This assistance helps buffer vulnerable families against rapid currency devaluation and severe inflation in local grocery markets.
Field activities complied strictly with humanitarian protection standards. Verification officers confirmed beneficiary vouchers against registration databases to ensure transparent delivery without delay or duplication. Local representatives assisted in managing queue lines and maintaining safe, orderly distribution environments.
The provision of monthly food baskets restores household stability and protects families from severe food deprivation. BESME INSANI continues to monitor field realities closely, working to secure necessary resources and preserve food security safety nets for displaced populations across Northwestern Syria.
