In response to deteriorating living conditions and depleted household savings in rural Northern Aleppo, BESME INSANI executed a comprehensive food parcel project. The intervention targeted newly displaced families and impoverished host households living in collective shelters. In total, 950 high-quality food baskets were distributed, supporting an estimated 4,750 individuals.
The project prioritized female-headed households, families with malnourished young children, and elderly residents without income sources. Each delivered parcel contained a calorie-dense selection of staple items, including bulgur wheat, sunflower oil, canned tuna, dry beans, black tea, and iodized salt, tailored to sustain a family of five through difficult winter months.
Our operational teams managed the full supply chain, executing local procurement, quality inspections, and secure warehouse packaging. Decentralized distribution centers were set up at shelter sites, and field officers arranged direct home deliveries for elderly beneficiaries unable to walk to distribution points.
Providing these food packages mitigates severe food insecurity and reduces negative coping mechanisms, such as skipping meals or accumulating high-interest debts for basic groceries. BESME INSANI expresses sincere appreciation to humanitarian partners who enable these vital, life-saving distributions across vulnerable Syrian communities.
