Following prolonged displacement and severe market inflation across Northern Syria, BESME INSANI completed an emergency food basket distribution targeting vulnerable camp populations near Northern Idlib. During this campaign, our teams delivered 1,200 comprehensive family food parcels to displaced households, directly benefiting approximately 6,000 individuals, including widows, orphans, and elderly persons.
Each standardized food package was designed to satisfy a family’s core nutritional requirements for an entire month. Rations included essential food commodities such as wheat flour, vegetable cooking oil, white rice, red lentils, chickpeas, coarse sugar, tomato paste, and canned beans. These food packages provide immediate protection against acute food insecurity and soaring local food prices.
Prior to field execution, assessment teams conducted thorough household surveys alongside local camp committees to register the most destitute families. Distribution points were strategically positioned within camp sectors, featuring shaded queue areas and clear signposts to facilitate smooth, dignified access for all beneficiaries.
Recipient families expressed deep appreciation for the timely relief, noting that the food basket significantly eases their monthly financial burden and ensures nutritional stability for their children. BESME INSANI remains dedicated to sustaining food assistance pipelines to shield displaced Syrian households from hunger and extreme poverty.
