Daily Bread & Essential Food Support for Syria

Amid rising unemployment and severe food insecurity in the Afrin region of Northwestern Syria, BESME INSANI implemented a targeted emergency food assistance project. Over the course of three days, our logistical teams distributed 1,500 comprehensive food packages to displaced and impoverished households, reaching an estimated 7,500 individual beneficiaries.

The distributed food packages contained essential non-perishable ingredients chosen to support dietary diversity and daily caloric requirements. Items included high-protein pulses, fortifying cooking oil, coarse sugar, grains, and essential condiments. This critical aid helps shield vulnerable families from the impact of rapid currency fluctuations and extreme inflation in local markets.

Field operations were conducted with strict adherence to humanitarian protection standards. Verification officers verified recipient vouchers against master registration databases, ensuring that assistance reached those most in need without duplication or delay. Local community leaders assisted in organizing queue management and providing sheltered waiting areas for women and the elderly.

The provision of these food baskets offers immediate stability to families who would otherwise struggle to secure their next meal. BESME INSANI continues to monitor field conditions closely, working tirelessly to secure additional humanitarian resources and maintain life-saving food safety nets for displaced populations throughout Northern Syria.
