In response to worsening living conditions and depleted household resources in Northern Aleppo, BESME INSANI completed a comprehensive food basket distribution targeting newly arrived displaced families and destitute host households. A total of 850 high-quality food parcels were distributed in collective shelter centers and informal camp communities, directly supporting around 4,250 individuals.
The intervention focused specifically on female-headed households, elderly individuals living without family support, and families with malnourished young children. Each delivered food basket provided a balanced mix of calorie-dense staples, such as bulgur, cooking oil, canned tuna, white beans, tea, and salt, tailored to sustain a family of five through harsh conditions.
Our field teams managed the entire operational chain, from direct local procurement and quality assurance in secure warehouses to decentralized field distribution. By establishing well-organized distribution nodes and door-to-door deliveries for elderly beneficiaries unable to stand in queues, the team ensured safe, equitable, and respectful assistance for all registered households.
This vital project directly addresses immediate hunger gaps and reduces the dangerous coping strategies forced upon destitute parents, such as skipping meals or acquiring high-interest debts for basic groceries. BESME INSANI extends its gratitude to all humanitarian partners who make these essential life-saving distributions possible across vulnerable Syrian communities.
