The impact of Chennai floods was devastating. Many lost their shelter, valuable belongings and helpless to accept even a simple support from anyone offering around them.
The Foundation tried to support the victims at their best, decided to help the most affected schools, students and their families. Learning Links representatives did a survey of the situation and collected the list of requirements meeting the school authorities, students and their families.
The Foundation procured and distributed daily need items - stoves, fans, basic kitchen utensils like milk boilers, sauce pans, plates, tumblers, buckets, mugs, mats, pillows, blankets, groceries, toiletries, etc to the families .
For the affected schools - dual desks, chairs, tables, almirahs, book cases, stationeries’, classroom furniture were procured and established. Some schools were also been supported with the required electrical works, whitewashing, repairing of the existing furniture’s etc.
The students were provided with uniforms, note books, variety of stationaries which included school bags, geometry boxes, exam pads, pens, pencils, erasers, sketches, colouring kits, folders etc.
The Foundation was able to impact more than 1500 families overall.
