The coastal part of Odisha was struck with a Category 4 - Hurricane, Cyclone Fani which has been the most devastating cyclone to hit the state in the last 20 years. The cyclone caused massive destruction of properties and natural landscape, hampered transportation, connectivity and communication in the region. The aftermath of this disaster has left millions in a state of homelessness as well as with the loss livelihood.
10 million people in the 5 districts of Odisha - Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur & Kendrapada were the most affected. There has been massive damage to property, livelihood and the environment.
This project aims to cater support to 2000 thousand affected families in Puri and Khordha district, with a specific focus on the fishing community, backward class, women, children and persons with disability.
Without this support, it will be almost impossible for the people of these communities to get back on their feet and overcome the problem of livelihood loss.
