With your support, we've started this important new project in Gaza!
During this first pilot phase, we are running after school sports programs for 240 girls in Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza. They are getting the chance to ride bikes and play football (soccer) - many of them for the first time. We believe in the power of sports to help the girls improve their better mental and physical health, build self-esteem, have fun and so much more.
Our staff in Gaza have visited the project often and told us, "The girls are very happy with the training and are committed to attending. They are especially excited about the cycling."
The project is also providing the girls with healthy snacks, their own specialized sports clothing and shoes, and awareness workshops on important topics like nutrition and early marriage.
We are so excited to see this project idea come to life thanks to the incredible support and solidarity efforts of the Big Ride for Palestine.
