Thanks to all of the organizers, cyclists, and friends of the Big Ride for Palestine we are getting closer to our goal to launch this new sports project for children in Gaza!
The project was devised by MECA Gaza Project Director Dr. Mona El-Farra with input from families, organizations, and teachers througout Gaza.
We are continuing to fundraise and hope you will help spread the word about the project and the upcoming Big Ride for Palestine taking place August 6-8 in the UK.
The Big Ride is calling for people from across the UK to join a peaceful protest outside Elbit’s UAV Engines factory, in Shenstone, near Lichfield, on Monday 8 August at 12.00 noon, to demand a military embargo on armament sales to Israel. Elbit is Israel's largest private arms manufacturer. The UK Government's unethical arms trade with Israel allows profits to be made on the back of human suffering.
We still have a few seats left on the coaches, so we would urge you to encourage friends and supporters to book a seat using the link below. Please be aware that all the seat options include the return journey and if you're a cyclist, it covers you and your bike back to the region you started from.
We've had a great response from cyclists across the country! We're currently up to 165 riders and anticipate this will rise as we approach the cut off date for late bookings. As you'll appreciate all organisers will have last minute planning to do, so the cut off date for bookings on the ride is Saturday 30 July. After that date we cannot guarantee to get back to you to confirm your accommodation request, confirm your seat on a coach or send out cycling tops/t-shirts.
