For this years Eye Mission to Cambodia, THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION was again invited to two major Phnom Penh Hospitals , to help with development of their Ophthlamology Departments.
Dr Lyon was also able to obtain domnated medical supplies- -lens implants for the cataract blind, along with necessary surgical supplies
. Training of junior Eye residents was carried out at the Soviet Friendship Hospital affilaiated with the Cambodian University of Health Sciences, and the Chidren's Surgery Centre Hospital for trianing and clinics in glaucoma . Glaucoma or progressive optic nerve damage is the major cause of untreatable blindness.

Over thirty Eye Doctors and nurses were trained in glaucoma presentation and causes.
