THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION has been invited back into Cambodia , to help with treating blindness in poor patients at two major Hospitals in the capital .Phnom Penh.
DR CHRISTOPHER LYON has been made an honorary Visiting Professor in Ophthalmology at the University of Health Sciences in Cambodia, in recognition of the THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION's work and contributionof 1000s of lens implants to cure blindness in cataract afflicted Cambodians and helping train Cambodian Eye Residents in the latest skill sets , so that local Ophthalmologists can better treat their own people.
This Eye Mission will incorporate donation of lens implants and surgical supplies. In addition training in Glaucoma - the second leading cause of blindness will be carried ot at The Soviet Frienship Hospital in phnom Penh and the Childrens Surgery Centre at the former Rose Hospital site.
treating blindness is an ongoing project with each individual patient experiencing life-changing restoration of eyesight, and /or prevention of other blinding disorders.
