THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION returns to Cambodia to twoo major Teaching Hospitals in Phnom Penh.
We work closely with Cambodian Ophthalmologists in developing treatments for the Cambodia people suffering eye diseases such as glaucoma and cataracts.
Our donation program synchronized with a major US lens implant manufacturer has developed donation packages for both hospitals These include lens implants and medical/surgical supplies to treat over 400 blind cataract patients.
Moreover, our teaching program this year entails lectures in newer methods to treet galucoma , as reviewed in a prior report.
We are working with US manufacturers to donate the newest laser instruments to treat galucoma, Most poor Cambodian patients cannot afford the classical therapy for glaucome , which is eyedrops instilled daily . So, with laser treatment, this will ensure much better pressure control within the patients eyes , slowing down the onset of blindness.
In asddition, we have kind donations of Ophthalmic instruments for eyeglals creation and surgical instruments for our local cataract surgeons. As these must be shipped via FedEx , your kind donations help ship these much need supplies to the Cambodia Hospital Doctors.
Thank you,
