The Cambodian Eye Mission is part of the larger program of THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION ,that includes Eye Missions to Burma, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and the Philippines.

These Eye Missions, have ,over the last 20 years helped cure blindness in over 70,000 poor villagers and urban poor.

This is done with your kind support, as THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION obtains lens implants and surgical supplies from US Manufactures, for the cataract blind. During cataract surgery the aged ,cloudy lens is removed and the new donated lens implanted, restoring vision..Medical supplies ,which are bulky and expensive to ship are a much needed, and frequently requested, by local based Ophthalmologists to help perform the cataract surgery safely.

Eye Doctors in the receiving countries also  benefit from in-country surgical training, skill-set transfers, lectures, Attending assitance in Outpatient Eye Clinics, assistance in obtaining up=to-date Ophthalmology journals and continuuing education.

For 2023 the Cambodian Eye Mission is scheduled for November -December and your kind assistance in helping ship medical supplies and support is very much appreciated.

This year, THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION  has completed an Eye Mission to the Philippines with over 125 lens implants donated for th Mauman Eye Hospital and Universtty of the East Ramon Magasaysay Cataract Outreach program for the poor, where Dr.. Lyon assisted as a Visiting Professor of Ophthalmology, transferring surgical and clinical skills to Eye Residents and Faculty.

In August- Sepember  THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION has been invited back into Laos to assist  in their Cataract Outreach program. Shipping into Laos is especially challenging and expensive, so your kind support is much appreciated .

Thank you, and Bless you all,

 CHRISTOPHER LYON ,MD,PhD
