Cambodian Eye Mission report
Over 200 blind Cambodians were enabled to restore their sight with intra-ocular lenses donated by
THE BLINDESS FOUNDATION www.blindcure.com
These medical supplies were obtained from a US manufacturer and shipped into Cambodia together with other need medical supplies. These lense were then implanted by Cambodian Eye Doctors into their patients , after cataract removal. The poor patients were not charged for these expnsive lens implants.
In addition Dr. Lyon helped train and share surgical skills with the young Ophthalmologists at two of Phnom Penh ( Cambodia's capital city ) Teaching Hospitals.
On-site collaboration helped develop a link to the American Academy of Ophthalmology's literature access programs, requested by the Cambodian Eye Residents for their literature review program.
. This helps educate the young Eye Doctors with the latest research and developments in Ophthalmology around the globe.
Our annual Cambodian Eye Mission continues this year with your kind support
Thank you,
DR CHRIS LYON
