CAMBODIAN EYE CARE MISSIONS
Our annual Eye Mission to Cambodia is still planned for ths fall.
As the virus restrictions lift , we will be able to send in medical supplies to help treat blindness at the CSC Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital city.
These outreach programs for free care to the poor draw villagers from many miles around from the rural farming communities ,in addition to treating the urban poor. in particular the cataract blind are treated with supplies from THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION.
. Thousands of eye patients receive donated lens implants provided through your kind help to THE BLINDNESS FOUNDATION.
We obtains these cataract lenses through collaboration with US companies such as Abbott, Alcon and Allergan . Their names keep changing through buyouts in the ever-changing dynamic corporate world of eyecare and we must strive to maintain contacts with our sources embedded in these companies to continue a secure flow of medical supplies.
Time consuming and aided by your kind donations, but well worth the effort- ask any blind Cambodian whose sight has been restored through your generous support !
We also collaborate with the University of Health Sciences Ophthalmolopgy Residency program in educating the next generation of young Eye doctors. These ,upon graduation move along to help treat their own populations of poor cambodians.
Travel restrictions hinder, but do not stop our eforts . Your continued support is musch appreciated.
Thank you all
DR CHRISTOPHER LYON
