The objective of this project is to provide a permanent food source for vulnerable families in the municipality of Ayapel. Our goal, as Corpoayapel, is to supply all the necessary inputs for building a vegetables garden at home. Targeting women, teenagers and kids the activities involved in the project include detailed videos, skill development tasks, recreational activities, and wellbeing talks aimed to nurture their soul and spirits.
In Colombia 22.9% of people live in rural areas. This population is seriously affected by COVID-19. In these territories there are few entities that can help them, unlike urban populations that have foundations, government and business support. People in rural areas who cannot go out to work are left without resources to eat, and the figures for chronic malnutrition, mainly in boys and girls under 5 years of age, are much higher than in urban areas.
Ayapel is part of this problem and Corpoayapel seeks to accompany these families to reduce the rural social inequalities with respect to the cities. This project seeks to work with 300 families who have children and youth at risk of chronic malnutrition. This project seeks to provide a permanent food source to vulnerable families of Ayapel. We seek to provide essential inputs for the construction of a vegetable garden in each home, training, capacity building, and well-being.
Built 300 vegetable gardens in homes. Reduce 20% the chronic malnutrition in babies and children Increase scholarity of kids because if parents have food at home they don't have to send them to work. Improve the level of education in Ayapel, because the first 1000 days in the nutrition of kids affects directly the development of the brain of a person.
