The time has come around again so quickly for the SicKids team to update you about our work. Has it really been three months since the last report?!
As you will know, our project on the Global Giving platform is specific to our work in Cambodia where we have already opened a number of Sensory Spaces. The charity also works on installing Sensory Spaces in the UK as well as providing outreach medical support to a healthcare team in Cambodia (where we have also installed some of our Sensory Spaces).
For the remainder of 2019 we'll be focusing on installing a further two spaces in the UK (we have the funds for these already).
Progress towards raising funds for our Cambodia Sensory Spaces has been slower over the summer and we need to make a decision - which we will most likely do before the end of 2019 - about whether to continue to actively campaign to raise enough money to install a full Sensory Space in Cambodia by the end of 2020 or, alternatively, to use the funds that you have already very kindly donated to increase the equipment provision in the spaces that already exist. Either of these options will benefit the health, development and wellbeing of children and young people in Cambodia.
The former will take longer as clearly the amount of money required is significantly higher whereas the latter will be able to be realised more quickly.
We'll, of course, update you after our next Board meeting.
In the meantime, thanks again for your super support.
Kind regards,
Andrew
