Such a busy summer at Critter Camp, turning into an equally busy fall!
We took in Boomer the hedgehog, Charlamagne the bunny, and a pet rat that was found at a wildlife center who apparently got pregnant by a wild rat and now she has 7 healthy little pups.
We made a fun video of Lizzie the bearded dragon riding Rambo the sulcata tortoise like a cowboy.
The video was picked up by MSN and they did a fantastic segment, click here to see it!
It was on Cute Overload too ( click here).
We had an article on the PetravelR site too- click here to read.
We won $500 each in contests by Staseck Chevrolet (click here for the story) and
Cabot Creamery Reward Volunteers program (click here).
And we won $1000 in the Animal Sheltering contest too! Thanks to all of our fans that voted for Critter Camp!
All this comes in so handy since we spend a minimum of $450 every week in supplies alone!
Here at Critter Camp Exotic Pet Sanctuary our philosophy is that humans bred every one of these animals here
for their enjoyment or profit and we as humans have a responsibility to
give them all a safe, healthy, happy, loved life even if they aren't
economically beneficial anymore.
Only when we as a collective people learn to give every creature's life
value will the pet overpopulation, abandonment and abuse diminish. As
long as pets are considered pieces of property to be thrown away when
used up or not wanted, people will continue to not value each and every life
and sadly most "rescue" policy reflects that.
