We are excited to start a brand new year looking forward to continuing to give the sanctuary animals here the very best of care, while also rescuing more animals as we have space.
Since our last report we had our big 3 year USDA relicensing inspection where, in the inspectors own words "everything must be perfect," and we passed with flying colors! Yay! We strive to go above and beyond, caring for the sanctuary animals as if they were our own pampered pets.
On a personal note CritterCampMom ( Beth) fell and broke her ankle, only a week after her newly replaced hip had dislocated- twice! Luckily our volunteers stepped up and kept everything running smoothly and we cannot thank them enough!
Stevie, our elderly blind fennec fox had surgery for a fast growing tumor on his leg. Amazingly for his age and health conditions he has recoved very well.
We survived the horrible arctic blast of Christmas weekend! It was -38 wind chill here! Very glad we had the barn insulated wrapped & sided so all the animals could stay snug and warm even though that!
And we rescued two rabbits that were going to be euthanized at another shelter for aggression towards people. One had bitten so bad that the person had to go to the hospital for stitches. We are glad that we could save their lives and now Richard & Leonardo are living happily in our colony of aggressive bunnies.
All of the animals got treats and toys for the holidays too!
We can only continue our mission with your help and support, which we greatly appreciate! Thank you!
