Wow! Since our last report we have taken in 34 new rescues! 16 ratties, 12 guinea pigs, 3 rabbits, a ferret, a tortoise and a bearded dragon!
Rescue never rests!
We also launched a capital campaign to build our proposed stand alone facility! This has become urgent for many reasons - the most urgent is that our homeowners insurance drastically increased to more than the mortgage payment itself due to having "exotic" animals inside. This is in no way sustainable.
So our Plan A is to raise $300,000 for our building. Plan B is to raise $20,000 to remodel our barn to house the rest of the animals for now. This would give us a reprieve on the insurance and time to regroup.
We have a new project here on GlobalGiving to raise the funds for the construction: http://goto.gg/54006
We have raised over $7500 total for construction so far
In the meantime we still need to feed and care for the animals here every day and we are very grateful for your support!!
