Many New Rescues!

By Beth Randall | director

Wow! Critter Camp has been BUSY since our last update!

Meet our newest rescues Pumpkin the hedgehog, Bella & Jyn the ferrets and 26 rats! The ratties came from a big rescue operation in PA where they ahd over 100 babies and a lot of pregnant mommas! CritterCampMom's awesome Sister In Law Lisa agreed to transport two mommas and their 24 babies to us here in IL when the family came to visit for a reunion. Thanks Lisa!!! So the babies are being weaned and will be ready for adoption in the next few weeks- we have hairless, rex, and dumbos!

We also had matching donation from Elayne Boosler's Tails of Joy https://www.tailsofjoy.net/rescue-dog-cat-horse-goat-bunny-ferret-pig-wolf-kinkajou-days-of-summer/ and volunteer labor from one of our volunteer families so that we could replace the rotted stairs to the top of the barn where pearl the pig and the bearded dragons live. We also fixed our main entry door and did some more upgrades.

It looks like we ended up at #1 in IL in the Shelter Challenge but they have not posted the results yet, so we cannot count on those funds yet.

We need your help now to feed all these new hungry rescues!

Critter Camp mom continues to heal her broken leg, waiting for knee replacement surgery in October and has broken another toe, and had tendon damage in her other foot when Rambo smashed it. And of course the Meniere's disease is still active... Sigh! But we carry on! With YOUR help!!

Thank you!!!
