Creative Life Foundation is expanding the ways we support urban refugees and asylum seekers in Bangkok, Thailand. In collaboration with the refugee community and partner-organizations, CLF will connect under-resourced families with food, supplemental income, and education resources for children and youth.
An estimated 8,000 refugees are living in Bangkok, representing countries such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Uganda, Somalia, etc. Because Thailand has not ratified the 1951 Refugee Convention, the government considers asylum seekers and refugees as undocumented migrants, which means families are either living quietly on overstayed visas or detained until they are either returned to their home country or resettled. Without the ability to work, living day-to-day is an incredible challenge.
In collaboration with the refugee community and partner-organizations, CLF will connect under-resourced individuals and families with immediate support, providing families with advocacy, essential items, and education materials so kids can continue their studies. Resettlement can take years; thanks to generous supporters like you, we can provide families with a support network that ensures food, shelter, and education.
Creative Life Foundation will help strengthen the support system that exists in Bangkok by focusing on the under-resourced communities. Refugee families experience stressful and difficult situations everyday; having access to essentials and education not only will help lower the day-to-day challenges, but it will also inspire hope.
