In Mexico, child pregnancy is a daily reality, yet authorities consistently fail to address sexual violence against girls under 15. We are launching a hotline and digital platform to provide immediate medical, legal, and psychological assistance for child victims in Veracruz. Our network, with 15 years of experience, will provide direct crisis intervention, guide families through legal obstacles, and demand that government authorities fulfill their duty to protect.
In the last 5 years in Veracruz, 3,355 girls aged 10 to 14 have been victims of sexual abuse resulting in pregnancy. These girls live in conditions of extreme vulnerability and poverty, where violence is normalized, and rights are not recognized. Public institutions are failing to provide the protection and legal accompaniment, such as access to Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy, which is a guaranteed human right under international and state laws.
We will provide urgent attention for victims through a specialized digital and telephonic platform. Victims and families will have access to psychological crisis containment, and medical and legal experts. We will provide direct guidance on accessing medical services for victims of sexual violence. We will offer legal support to help restore children's rights. These services will be provided at no cost.
By providing professional accompaniment, we strengthen the families' ability to demand justice, while Equifonia promotes public policies that guarantee children's rights and force the government to act. Our goal is to promote a systemic shift where state authorities in Veracruz can no longer ignore these cases. By replicating and expanding this project, we seek to inspire other states. We are not just helping individuals; we are changing the landscape of child protection in Mexico.
