For a child affected by war, a creative workshop can mean much more than painting a picture or making something with their hands. It can be a few hours of feeling safe, meeting other children, laughing, creating, and simply being a child again.
This is the idea behind Creative Bridges.
At IRPIN BRIDGE in Irpin, we have seen how important safe and welcoming community spaces are for children from internally displaced and war-affected families. Our team has experience organizing activities and day camps where creativity, communication, teamwork, and emotional support bring displaced and local children together. These experiences became the foundation for Creative Bridges.
Through this project, we want to organize new day creative camps at IRPIN BRIDGE, combining art and creative workshops, art therapy, cultural activities, games, teamwork, and positive interaction. The camps are designed to help children reduce isolation, build friendships, express emotions through creativity, and feel more connected to the community where they now live.
At this stage, Creative Bridges has not yet received donations through GlobalGiving, and the activities planned specifically under this fundraising campaign have therefore not yet been funded by GlobalGiving donors. Our team continues preparing the space, developing activities, working with the community, and seeking the resources needed to welcome the next groups of children.
Our goal on GlobalGiving is $15,000. These funds will help us provide the materials, professional support, activities, and safe environment needed to run the planned camps for internally displaced and war-affected children.
We hope this first project update will also become the beginning of a community of people who believe that recovery is built not only through rebuilding homes and cities, but also through rebuilding trust, friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Every contribution can help us open the doors of Creative Bridges to another child.
Thank you for helping us create a place where children affected by war can create, connect, and feel that they belong.
