The pandemic has shown that even though technology is a powerful educational tool, it also widens the inequality gaps in the territories where connectivity or access to technology is limited. For nine months, Tiempo de Juego has put all of its efforts into bringing a high-quality educational offer for thousands of children from vulnerable communities around Colombia. We want to keep providing educational opportunities for children through radio, digital platforms, and social media diffusion
The pandemic has widened the inequality gaps in the territories where connectivity or access to technology is limited. In Colombia, less than 50% of the population has access to the internet. The latter has been affected especially in the education sector, where thousands of children were left without access to school or education services, due to the lack of internet services and technology required which ended affecting children's and youth's cognitive and socioemotional development.
At Tiempo de Juego we want to provide quality tools for digital inclusion that can trascend the COVID situation. This program helps to close the gaps that the pandemic has widen by providing educational tools through different media, and guaranteeing the children's rights of sports and recreation.
This project will give educational opportunities to 3000 children around Colombia, with a game based approach. This approach will not only be limited for children with technological tools, but also includes radio programs, and remote strategies to help marginalized communities.
