Progress Report: School Revamp – Creating Clean and Safe Classrooms June 2026
Project Title: School Revamp – Creating Clean and Safe Classrooms for Public Schools
Prepared By: Better You Africa Initiative (BYAI)
Date: June 2026
Impact Update: Stewardship and Strategic Patience
At Better You Africa Initiative, our dedication to transforming public school classrooms into secure, hygienic, and inspiring spaces for learning remains absolute.
Since our previous update in March 2026, our community has grown with a kind $25.00 contribution on April 27, 2026, from an anonymous supporter. We are deeply grateful for this gesture. Every single donation represents a profound vote of confidence in our mission and a shared conviction that public school children in Lagos deserve dignified learning environments.
Currently, our total available capital for this initiative is $275, which remains significantly below our ultimate $50,000 target. Following careful internal assessments and keeping our long-term goals in mind, we have maintained our decision to hold these resources rather than deploy them immediately.
The structural and sanitation overhauls this initiative demands require substantial, visible execution. Small, fragmented disbursements would dilute our financial resources without addressing core issues such as roofing and plumbing failures. By consolidating our capital, we ensure that when we do break ground, we can deliver high-quality, lasting improvements that truly match the scale of the project.
This patient approach guarantees:
Current School Engagement Status
Academic terms are wrapping up, and schools will be going on holiday in a few weeks. Under normal circumstances, this upcoming vacation window presents the perfect operational timeline to execute heavy structural renovations without disrupting student learning. However, because we have not yet raised a viable funding baseline, it will not be possible for us to orchestrate the physical project during this break.
Despite this funding limitation, our foundational groundwork has not stopped. We continue to:
We are fully prepared to launch physical renovations the moment our financial resources reach an actionable threshold.

Strategic Outlook
Our core objectives remain entirely unchanged:
Securing our $50,000 budget requires a major strategic shift. While we continue to champion grassroots crowdfunding, we are expanding our outreach to high-net-worth individuals and corporate bodies. Moving forward, we are actively positioning Better You Africa to partner with corporate organizations whose values heavily align with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) causes, specifically focusing on educational equity and community infrastructure.
Planned Next Steps
Closing Appreciation
To every donor who has backed this initiative, thank you for your steadfast support.
Kindness is never measured by the size of the check, but by the depth of its intent. The $25 contribution received in April keeps our momentum moving forward. We remain transparent, strategic, and deeply committed to this cause.
Together, we will build classrooms where safety is standard and children can unlock their full potential.
With gratitude,
Better You Africa Initiative (BYAI)
