Nationalities Service Center (NSC) prepares and empowers immigrants and refugees in the Philadelphia region to transcend challenging circumstances by providing comprehensive client-centered services to build a solid foundation for a self-sustaining and dignified future. We are currently seeking funds to create a dignified service environment that protects the safety and health of our clients.
Since it relocated in 2006, NSC has nearly maxed out the available space in which we can serve more than 5,000 immigrants and refugees annually, and the training rooms and surrounding office ares are in dire need of modest renovations to ensure the health and safety of all our clients. After surviving unimaginable trauma in their countries of origin, our clients deserve a suitable and dignified space in which they can build a foundation for their new lives in Philadelphia.
NSC has launched a Building Improvement Project that will make modest renovations and safety improvements to our current space. This 4-phase project will result in culturally-appropriate restrooms, expanded training space, and security measures to ensure the safety of our clients. This project will create a dignified space in which the immigrants and refugees we serve can begin to rebuild their lives in the greater Philadelphia area. We are planning for a space that communicates respect and in which all clients can gather, learn, and receive support as they strive for self-sufficient journeys in their new home.
