We are now deactivating the donation period for our project to create a microloan fund for women only. The donation period was very successful and we met and exceeded our goals which were to raise $5,000 with at least 40 unique donors. Because we accomplished this, with your help, we are now an official Global Giving Partner and will be permanently represented on their site. This allows access to a broader donation audience including corporate dollars from the likes of Nike and Dell.
At the same time, we have begun a new Global Giving project to add resources to our SOS Loan Fund which strives to save loans from expiring. Loans have 30 day limit to fund or the borrow does not receive the interest free loan. As we identify worthy loans in danger of expiring we can help fund them which also raises their popularity level and exposure to other lenders as well. We currently have about $4500 in that fund and we are going to try to raise that amount to $10,000.
