While several states of India are reporting significantly reduced COVID-19 cases and deaths from the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, the virus continues to linger in various geographies of India, and experts believe that a third wave of the pandemic is imminent.
Since last year, HLFPPT is working on awareness of COVID-19 & its vaccination as it can help in reducing the spread of COVID-19 & increasing COVID-19 vaccine administration. Inadequate demand and pockets of vaccine hesitancy with people not coming forward for getting the vaccine due to various reasons is one of the key challenges of vaccination programs in India. The causes of reluctance and hesitancy vary according to the local context and prevailing norms, attitudes and behaviors. Cultural diversity, illiteracy and ignorance play an important role in the health and health-seeking behaviors of communities. There are several myths and misconceptions among people about the utility and side effects of COVID-19 vaccines which act as barriers to the uptake of the vaccination.
In this critical situation, it is highly essential to share the right information and spread awareness on COVID-19 associated behaviour & Vaccination with the most vulnerable communities to the infection. HLFPPT is working on different groups of construction workers who have high potential occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2 and Vaccination hesitancy. HLFPPT conducted 2 awareness sessions with construction workers to aware them of COVID-19 associated behavior, facts, correct information, vaccination & its importance last month with your support.
