Dear Friends,
Greetings from HLFPPT!
The World is still battling with the pandemic. The second wave hit India even with greater ferocity. India's deadly Covid-19 second wave has devastated big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow and Pune. Delhi continues to reel under a deadly second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. The COVID-19 case positivity rate peaked to 32.82 percent in Delhi, the highest so far. Prevention and awareness help in reducing the current rate of spread of COVID-19.
Though the funds were short, HLFPPT has made efforts to continue COVID-19 related activities among hard-to-reach communities. The magnitude of the community misconception and lack of prevention about COVID-19 is one of the biggest challenges faced during pandemic. Rapid and appropriate risk communication is required to contain the disease and keep fear and false stories at bay. In Delhi/ NCR, despite the strong spread of COVID-19, the community was not following COVID-associated behaviour in the first quarter of the year. Due to lack of awareness, trust and rumours in the system, less cooperation has been received from the community in breaking the chain of infection. To smash the myths and misconceptions of the community and promote COVID-associated behaviour, HLFPPT is generating awareness for COVID-19 across Delhi/ NCR, India. In this critical situation, it is highly essential to share the right information on COVID-19 with the most vulnerable communities to the infection. The construction worker is one of the marginalized populations with high potential occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2. HLFPPT conducted 6 awareness sessions with construction workers to aware them of COVID-19 last month with your support.
HLFPPT is delivering simple and effective messages like:
Thank you so much for standing with HLFPPT during the difficult times. But we are falling short of funds to provide support for COVID-19 victims since last quarter. Many of us have done a lot towards benefiting the communities in several ways during the last year. We would like to thank our donors for the previous donations that you have made for COVID-19 Crisis Relief & Support in India.
We seek your constant support in our endeavours.
