We have been deeply involved in sustaining North and South Carolinians with food, hygiene and PPE needs for six months. We reallocated our entire 2020 budget to doing so as well as what we currently have remaining. Our team has been also focused on making sure our elderly military veteran population (of over 750,000), as well as our civilian elderly, can survive this time in history, as they are often forgotten about.
North Carolina, like most US states, have seen a drastic rise in Covid cases, job layoffs and families losing homes. Our team has seen this occur more daily and we have taken to task in making sure that people have food and essentials as best we can. We have made a dramatic impact, along with our partners, but we know we can do more with your help!
We have formed many partnerships for discounted food and supplies, as well as distribution partners in organizations such as ours. We believe that if we can keep food on the tables of families, we would have alleviated much of the pressure in homes to provide. With many children now doing their schooling on line, this is 1 to 2 more meals families now have to come up with (where schools used to provide). We can be the bridge to many families budgets and needs, as we have been for hundreds.
When we look back on this moment in time, we will see that many homes made it by being able to save money for food. That saved money can go towards mortgages, rent, bills or medicines. We have seen it on a small scale (our own budget), and believe it can be expounded it exponentially.
